Introduction

The word Kasi is born from the Primal Tongue. It means "Anchored Ones".

The recent discoveries made by the First Eye of the Empire told us that this name that long ago we gave to our species could not have been better chosen. Did our ancestors had some knowledge of our origins that were lost through time? Our discoveries certainly point to that effect it would seem.

In the following sections we'll try to gather all the most accurate known facts of our species

Physiology

Flow grown in Stillness and anchored by Sands, this, is what we are. As with all things tangible in this world we are made in part of these three things.

The Kasi species is one that possess multiple stages of life that each present a unique physiology.

The first one is the Wisp stage. Each Kasi is born from the incubation of a concentration of Flow within a Stillness shard. This can happen randomly in nature or artificially with the care from a parent.

The Wisp, while protected by the impenetrable shell of its Stillness egg, is a very fragile thing made almost only of Flow. So once it is out, it is imperative for the newborn being to quickly move to its next stage of life, the First Morph in which it will create its anchor to Existence.

Throughout its life, the Kasi will undergo this process known as Morph, many times. This process consists into anchoring the being into existence by building itself a body out of Sands which is in itself is known as a Kasi.

Each morph will either build upon or change the existing anchor. As the Kasi grows in size and complexity, so does its need for sustenance in Flow.

Many Kasi that grow in the wilds will stay as relatively simple beings living simply to survive and thrive in their environment. But over time or with the guidance of another, Kasi may evolve to more complex beings able to use tools and build things. This evolutive complexity is what may very well have led to the creation of many civilizations thoughout the history of the Storm.

The shape of one’s anchor is only limited by one imagination and available ressources to build it.
